This week I learned about Chapter Two. We learned about things such as Internet services, different kinds of search tools, and different kinds of search techniques. The ones I prefer the most are Google.
This week through our weekly assignment I learned different tricks to searching for things on the Internet. We had to look for articles, maps, and pictures. Once you type article in the Google search box, it will automatically bring up a specific website just dedicated to articles and you can do your research from there.
I'm getting so excited about this week being over. It has been my most difficult with schoolwork so far. I had so many tests and projects and papers to do. I can't wait to be done being the student and start being the teacher!

In Chapter Four, I learned about the Random Access Memory. Also known as RAM. RAM is simply memory chips in the computer. The most common one is SDRAM or Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory.
I finally learned how to use that SAM program. It kept kicking me off and making me start over. Then it erased all of the work that I had actually done. But then I realized that it won't work on most home computers. FYI Do it at school.
After doing the Windows XP Practice Test I learned how to rename files. I also learned how to make a program and move files into other folders.

This week I read Chapter Three and learned about Application Software. One thing that I learned about application software is that there are five categories. These categories are School, Home/Personal, Graphic Design/Multimedia, Communications, and Productivity Business. Software applications are all about creating, editing, and formatting.
After reading Chapter Three, I understood more in depth how technology has to do with my career. I realized this when I found out that school is a part of application software. It has to deal with grade books, note taking, and special needs.
It is still kind of confusing so far because I only understand the basics of using the computer. Hopefully, I can come to understand more unique tasks that will make my job easier.

Today in Chapter One of our book I learned about ISTE NETS (National Education Technology Standards). They hope to facilitate school improvement in the US with the help of the ISTE NETS. They want to define better standards for students, improve technology, and integrate curriculum technology. They also want to evaluate the use of technology.
Not only have I learned the new things about ISTE NETS, but I have also learned many other new things such as blogging. I had never posted a blog before. Now I can create a profile, put up pictures, and create links to the web sites I always use.
Teachers today are learning more and more new ways to keep track of their schedules and grades. I hope that by the time I start to teach I will be ahead of the game after having taken this course!

I use my computer everyday when I check my e-mail and facebook. I have also just started using this form of technology for my Calculus class. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I have a different homework assignment on webassign.net. Technology through a computer is also a much faster way to do research. I constantly have to do research in no matter what class I take. It is so much easier to look things up on the computer versus looking things up in the library. It will also help me learn a great deal in this class.

I hope to learn many new things in this class. My major is Mathematics, Education. Recently, teachers have started doing more and more work in the computer. They take attendance, store grades, create quizzes, and create links to helpful websites. I hope this class will give me access to becoming a better teacher by learning about the new forms of computer technology.

I chose this major because I love math. I hope to teach high school students. I was originally going to New York to play volleyball. However, after my season was over I found out that I had to have surgery on my hand. I was a setter; so, the whole game for me was my hands. I am never going to play at the level I was at before; therefore, I decided to go to FSU and major in the next thing that I love: math and kids!
